How to Open the Case of a Winbook Jiv Mini Computer

While neither a laptop or notebook, the Jiv Mini uses notebook components, such as SO-DIMM memory modules and a 2.5 Inch hard disk drive, in order to put a complete Media Center PC into a VERY small package. While it is a Winbook computer, it was manufactured by Elitegroup Computer Systems as the Digital Home P60. The PC Alchemy MiniMCE Mini Media Center is its twin. (Winbook is part of Micro Center.)

How to Open the Case

  Hold the Jiv Mini with the rear of the computer facing you. The serial number sticker will be on the right, vent holes on the left. That piece is 1¼ (3 cm) deep, and is separate from the rest of the case. Slide it a bit to the right, and it will detach forward.

  There are 2 screws on the part of the motherboard exposed, one at each end. Unscrew these and you can separate the 2 halves of the computer.
